This page explains what Instagram data Topmate holds, and how to have it deleted.
What we hold
When you connect an Instagram professional account to Topmate, we store:
- About your account: your Instagram user ID, business account ID, username, name, profile picture URL, biography, follower and following counts, media count, account type, the connected Facebook Page, the permissions you granted, and an encrypted access token.
- About people who message or comment on your account: their Instagram-scoped ID, username, display name, profile picture URL, and the text of the comment, story reply, live comment or direct message they sent you.
- About your posts: media ID, permalink, caption, thumbnail, like count and comment count, for the posts your automations are connected to.
- Delivery records: which automation ran, what was sent, and whether it was delivered.
We use this only to run the automations you set up. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.
If you are a Topmate creator
Disconnect your Instagram account from your Topmate dashboard. We revoke the webhook subscription, delete the stored access token, switch off every automation on that account, and delete the associated Instagram data within 30 days.
You can also email
support@topmate.io from the address on your Topmate account and ask us to delete it.
If you are not a Topmate user
If you commented on or messaged a creator who uses Topmate, we may hold a record of that interaction. Email
support@topmate.io with your Instagram username and ask us to delete it. We will find your records and delete them within 30 days. You do not need a Topmate account.
If you removed Topmate from Instagram
When you remove Topmate in Instagram under Settings → Apps and Websites, Instagram notifies us and we run the same deletion.
How long it takes
30 days from the request. We will confirm by email when it is done.
