About me

Devang Pathak is a professional screenwriter, researcher, and script consultant based in Mumbai with 5 years of experience. He was a writer and a researcher on Anurag Kashyap’s adaptation of Suketu Mehta’s Maximum City. He is a co-writer for two upcoming Tamil feature films. He is also a part of a writer’s room for an Indian adult animation show. He was selected in Writers Ink Screenwriting Lab, 2023, where he developed his first solo feature film screenplay titled The Shapes We Take. He has also been a journalist and writer whose work has been published in The Hindu, Film Companion, and BuzzFeed. A lifelong cinephile and advocate for the big screen experience, he founded Mumbai Subtitles Database in 2019 to support subtitled non-Hindi Indian films in theaters. He started an offline forum and newsletter in January called Revival Cinema Project, which promotes community solutions for systemic issues and challenges in Indian cinema.
