About me

A Decade In: The Good, the Bad, and the Brutal Truths My professional journey—much like life—has been a mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Over the last ten years, I’ve experienced both victories and failures (if I’m being honest, more of the latter). However, despite the challenges, I have learned lessons that no course or LinkedIn post can teach you. This isn’t a post filled with jargon or catchy phrases like “giving back to the community.” Maybe one day I’ll get there, but for now, I’m here to share what I know—raw, real, and hopefully useful for students and early-career professionals who are trying to find their footing. Here are five lessons that changed how I work and think: 1. Ignore the shiny tools—focus on execution. Tools change, but fundamentals don’t. Learn to get things done. 2. Zoom out. Stop sweating the small tasks. Focus on outcomes that really matter. 3. Make data speak like a human. If your story puts people to sleep, then the data doesn’t matter. 4. Fall in love with the right problems. Passion is great, but direct it toward things that genuinely matter. 5. Don’t fear AI— make it your ally. Learn just enough to command it; you don’t have to build it yourself.
