About me

I'm Dr. Kajal Totlani — a naturopath who genuinely loves figuring out what's going on inside your body and helping you fix it in a way that actually fits your life. I work with women dealing with weight struggles, gut issues, and anxiety — and with individuals managing diabetes and metabolic health. My approach combines naturopathic principles, therapeutic nutrition, and real one-on-one conversations. Not generic advice. Not cookie-cutter diets. Something made for you. What I bring to every session is clinical depth, a lot of listening, and the ability to connect the dots between your gut, your hormones, your stress, and your food — because in my experience, they're never really separate. I'm also trained in Garbhasanskara — supporting mothers through pregnancy with holistic guidance — and in Sound Healing, which I weave in where it adds value. If you've tried everything and still feel stuck — or if you just want someone to sit with your health story and help you make sense of it — I'd love to work with you.

Frequently asked questions

What is gut health and why does it matter?

The gut health meaning is simple — it refers to how well your digestive system, especially the trillions of bacteria living in your intestines, is functioning. A healthy gut digests food properly, absorbs nutrients, supports immunity, and even influences your mood and hormones. When gut health suffers, you often see bloating, acidity, constipation, low energy, skin problems, and stubborn weight gain. That is why wellness experts today treat the gut as the foundation of overall health.

How to improve gut health?

Start with the basics: eat more fibre-rich vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and millets, add natural fermented foods like curd, buttermilk, and kanji, drink enough water, and chew your food slowly. Fixing your sleep, managing stress, and avoiding ultra-processed junk and unnecessary antibiotics matter just as much. If bloating, acidity, or irregular bowel movements continue for weeks, a personalised consultation can help identify the root cause instead of just masking symptoms.

Which gut health foods should I eat daily?

Some of the best gut health foods in an Indian diet are homemade curd and buttermilk, fermented items like idli, dosa, and dhokla, kanji, fibre-rich seasonal vegetables, fruits like papaya and banana, whole grains, and soaked legumes. Try to include at least one fermented food and plenty of fibre every day, and stay well hydrated. Cut down on packaged snacks, excess sugar, and fried food, as these feed the wrong bacteria and worsen bloating.

Do gut health supplements and tablets really work?

Probiotic gut health supplements can help in some cases, but they are not a magic fix, and no capsule works if your daily diet and lifestyle stay the same. Many people keep searching for gut health tablets for bloating or acidity, yet get only temporary relief because the root cause — poor eating habits, stress, or food intolerances — is never addressed. It is safer to get a proper assessment first and use supplements only when genuinely required, under professional guidance.

Do I need a gut health test?

A gut health test can be useful when you have long-standing symptoms such as bloating, constipation, acidity, or food sensitivities that do not improve with basic diet changes. That said, most people do not need an expensive test to start healing — a detailed consultation looking at your digestion, diet, stress, sleep, and medical history usually reveals a lot. A qualified naturopath or wellness doctor can tell you whether a test is genuinely needed in your case or whether simple dietary correction is enough.

How do I find a good gut health doctor near me?

Look for a qualified naturopath, wellness consultant, or gut-focused dietitian who works on root-cause healing rather than quick fixes. Check their credentials, read client reviews, and see whether they ask detailed questions about your diet, stress, and lifestyle before advising anything. Also remember that many experienced gut health doctors now offer 1:1 online consultations, so you are not limited to clinics in your own city and can choose the right specialist from anywhere in India.

Which weight loss diet plan actually works long term?

A sustainable weight loss diet plan is one built around normal Indian food — dal, roti, rice, vegetables, curd, eggs or paneer — in the right portions, with a moderate calorie deficit instead of a crash diet. Plans that cut entire food groups or promise rapid results usually lead to rebound weight gain. The most effective plans also consider your gut health, hormones, thyroid, stress, and sleep, because stubborn weight is often linked to these factors and not just to overeating.

What should a weight loss diet chart for female include?

A good weight loss diet chart for female should include protein in every meal (dal, paneer, eggs, curd, soya), iron- and calcium-rich foods, fibre from vegetables and whole grains, and healthy fats like nuts and seeds, while keeping overall calories slightly below maintenance. For women, hormones matter a lot, so the chart should account for conditions like PCOS or thyroid imbalance, energy levels through the day, and realistic meal timings around work or home duties. Extreme 800–1,000 calorie charts should be avoided, as they slow the metabolism and cause weakness, hair fall, and weight regain.

Can I get a weight loss diet plan in Hindi?

Yes. Many Indian wellness consultants happily share their plans and explanations in Hindi, so always ask for the language you are most comfortable with.

What is naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a system of healing that supports the body's own ability to recover using natural methods — therapeutic diet, fasting, hydrotherapy, massage, yoga, and lifestyle correction — instead of relying mainly on medicines. The naturopathy meaning comes from the idea of "nature cure": remove the cause of the disease and give the body the right food, rest, and routine so it can heal itself. Today, modern naturopaths combine these principles with nutrition science to help with gut problems, weight, diabetes, stress, and hormonal issues.

What is naturopathy treatment and which problems can it help with?

Naturopathy treatment usually begins with a detailed study of your diet, digestion, sleep, and stress, followed by a personalised plan of therapeutic food, lifestyle changes, yoga or breathwork, and natural therapies like hydrotherapy and massage where needed. It is commonly used for digestive disorders, obesity, diabetes and metabolic problems, anxiety, skin issues, and lifestyle-related hormonal imbalance. The goal is to correct the root cause so improvements last, instead of only suppressing symptoms.

Do I need to visit a naturopathy centre, or can I consult online?

A residential naturopathy centre is useful if you want an intensive, supervised program with on-site therapies like hydrotherapy, massages, and controlled meals. But for most concerns such as weight gain, gut problems, diabetes, and stress, regular 1:1 online naturopathy consultations work very well, because the real healing happens through the diet and routine you follow at home every day. Online consults also make follow-ups easier and let you work with a specialist from anywhere in India.

Can type 2 diabetes be controlled with naturopathy and diet?

Diet and lifestyle are central to managing type 2 diabetes and overall metabolic health, and naturopathic nutrition can play a strong supporting role. A structured plan of low-glycaemic Indian foods, portion control, fixed meal timings, daily movement, weight reduction, and stress management can improve blood sugar control over time — but any change to your medication should always be made only by your treating doctor. A dedicated diabetes and metabolic health consultation helps you get a plan that fits your reports, routine, and food habits.

Can breathing exercises and yoga really help with anxiety?

Yes — slow, deep breathing directly calms the nervous system. Practices like anulom vilom, bhramari, and long-exhale breathing lower the heart rate, reduce stress hormones, and quieten the mind within a few minutes, which is why pranayama is now widely recommended alongside other anxiety care. The key is doing it correctly and consistently, and a 1:1 yoga and breathwork coach can correct your technique, build a realistic daily routine, and adjust the practices to your body — something most people struggle to do on their own with videos.
