LBS. LSE. Imperial. ESSEC. EDHEC. ESCP. All six offered me a scholarship. I chose ESSEC Paris, ranked #2 in the world for Master in Management, on a 50% scholarship with a GMAT of 730. I applied from a commerce college in Delhi with no consultant and no family in Europe. Then I did the part nobody plans for: turned it into a job in Europe and a French work visa. I still live in Paris. I have since got 7 students into business schools abroad. I also build things. I took a D2C brand from zero across 6 marketplaces and 50+ SKUs, imported and exported over EUR 175,000 of goods negotiating directly with manufacturers in China and Vietnam, cut landed costs around 35%, and moved gross margin from 47% to 60% in six months. I help with three things: getting into a good school abroad and understanding whether it actually pays back, taking a business from minus one to zero, and going direct to suppliers instead of through agents. No university and no factory pays me a referral fee. I am paid by the person asking, and by nobody else, which is why I will tell you when the answer is do not do it.
