I am an engineering leader, an innovator and an expert in social media, short video, content creation, Effects, AR and so on. As the Head of AR Effects at TikTok, I led a top-notch engineering team with ~400 engineers for AR and effects. I have been innovating in the field of augmented reality, camera and effects in social media platforms, such as TikTok, Snapchat, CapCut and so on. Influenced and impacted the technology roadmap and product strategies for camera, editing and content creation in these social apps, and driving the DAU growth to more than 1 B. My team’s mission is to empower the interactive and creative design space for video creation and editing with state-of-the-art AI technology. My team is responsible for building a world-leading effect platform that transforms AI/AR technologies into innovative product features for content creation and consumption, as well as camera applications, within TikTok and other ByteDance products. I am also hiring and managing software engineers and interactive engineers in various domains, such as AR platform, graphics, game, desktop, mobile, algorithm, and product.
