Eight months a year at sea on container ships, I kept asking the same question: is this it? Will i be spending most of my life at sea? Will my career graph end at Captain / Chief engineer? For me, these questions never came out of dissatisfaction, but just sheer curiosity and ambition. In 2022, I left the life at sea behind. Prepared for the GMAT while almost everyone said it was too late, too niche, too unlikely for a seafarer. Scored 730 (96th percentile). Got admits from ISB Hyderabad and IIM Ahmedabad. Post-MBA, I led growth for a health and wellness brand and scaled a category from zero to ₹30 crore ARR. I now work in maritime fintech, leading marketing for fractional ship ownership globally. I now have conviction that the transition is possible for all seafarers.
