When I first started our sessions, I was at my lowest point in life. The pandemic had really taken a massive toll on me, it had affected my personal and professional life. I was suffering from existential depression. I desperately needed intervention and one of my friends had suggested I go to therapy and for the first time in my life, I did.
To be honest, I was skeptical but I was clutching at straws. So, I started by telling you about my petty insecurities regarding my weight gain, body image, and how I can not stop eating junk because it made me feel better. And the most important thing you told me was to take it one step at a time. I had no motivation really but just because I had to update you, I started by walking outside for five minutes. I failed many times to do that much also, but you did not judge me for that.
After almost a month, I started taking the longer route to walk. Your voice comes to mind all most every time when I am not being gentle with my body, I am not overdoing anything. I am just doing 10-15 minutes of any exercise. I am turning my life around, I lost 5 kgs, and this change is reflected in my other spheres of life as well, small as it might be.
You were gentle, you really cared and you gave me my motivation back and I thank you for that.
