Vedant Vachharajani is a Software Engineer III at Walmart Global Tech. Vedant develops cloud-native applications for Walmart Pharmacies, impacting at least 1M customers and pharmacists. An Indiana University Bloomington alum, Vedant holds an MS in Computer Science with a passion for addressing real-world problems through software development. During his master's program, Vedant excelled as an Associate Instructor (AI/TA), facilitating courses on Applied Algorithms, Data Mining, Network Science, and Software Engineering. His academic achievements extended to being a graduate student ambassador for the MS in CS Program, representing and promoting the program's excellence to at least 1200 prospective and incoming candidates. Before joining as a full-time software engineer, Vedant showcased his talent as a Software Engineering III Intern with Walmart Global Tech in the summer of '22. He contributed to the development of a distributed system called Billing Order Management (BOM) used by pharmacists in Walmart Pharmacies. Vedant passionately enjoys addressing and working on real-world problems through software development. He has experience in various domains that include but are not limited to, Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning. Graphs and Relational Databases are his favorites among all the topics he has studied and worked on. In his opinion, the best part about working in technology is its ubiquity and cross-domain applications. For instance, he has worked on graph-matching algorithms and used them to decide on tactical formations in association football (soccer). His technical strongholds are Python and PostgreSQL. As a competitive programmer, he has participated in around 150 contests and is a Specialist (Rating: 1441) on Codeforces. In addition to his technical prowess, Vedant possesses valuable leadership and teamwork experience as an NSS Student Volunteer, where he contributed over 240 hours to serving the community alongside a team of 100 individuals. He is diligent, accountable, optimistic, and confident in his undertakings which makes him stand out among his peers and competitors In his free time, he likes to watch movies, listen to music, watch soccer, socialize, read, and bird watching "Do what you love and never work a day in your life"
