Hey, I'm Vivek. I'm a Google Summer of Code 2026 mentee with Checkstyle, working on the "Java 25 Language Features Support" project. Outside of GSoC, I contribute heavily to: • Checkstyle: 94+ PRs, top contributor over the last 6 months, also reviewing other contributors' PRs. • Hyperledger Besu (the enterprise-grade Ethereum client by ConsenSys): 8+ PRs across the JSON-RPC and Engine API layers, 7 merged. Currently working on eth_getStorageValues and engine_newPayload validation, with reviews from Besu maintainers. I've been through the full journey of breaking into serious open source as a student. Picking the right project, writing a proposal that mentors actually engage with, getting your first PR reviewed without freezing up, and turning a few merged PRs into a mentorship slot.
