This is the thing I know better than anything else on this page.

HR technology companies hire HR people, and most HR professionals have no idea. The roles are implementation consultant, solution consultant and pre-sales, customer success, product, and HR tech consulting — and for several of them, ex-HR is the preferred background, because you understand the buyer in a way an outsider can't.

We'll cover: what each of those roles actually does through a customer lifecycle, which one fits your background, what they pay in India at each level and how that compares to where you are, what these companies screen for and what makes them reject an HR candidate, what the work-life reality is (some of it is travel-heavy and quota-adjacent — you should know that before you jump), and how to get into an interview when you have no software experience on your CV.

To be clear: this isn't a route into my company. I don't refer people I've met on a call, and I'll tell you the same thing about my employer as any other.

For HR professionals with 2–12 years of experience.

Cancellation policy: Rescheduling — free, up to 12 hours before, as often as you need. Cancellation — more than 12 hours before, full refund, no questions; less than 12 hours, 50%, because the slot is usually too late to fill. No-shows — if you don't turn up and don't tell me, no refund; I'll wait 10 minutes and use the time, but message me if something genuinely went wrong and I'll usually make an exception. If I cancel — full refund plus your next session free. The five-minute rule — if it's clear in the first five minutes that I'm not the right person for your problem, I'll say so, end the call and refund you in full.
