I am currently working as a Project Fellow (HARSAC), in GIS under IT Cell at the Haryana Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) Headquarter in Panchkula. Here, we are responsible of using Geoinformatics, image interpretation, GIS methods to manage spatial data (to map the pollution activities and their sources for water, air and the environmental problems within the Haryana state). GIS and Remote Sensing has applications in almost every sector of the economy, from agriculture to industry, infrastructure development in urban or rural areas, land management, banking and finance, resource management, mining, water management, disaster management, social planning, service delivery, etc. Nowadays, geodata (Raster and Vector) has been accepted in India (NATIONAL GEOSPATIAL POLICY, 2022) as a critical national infrastructure and information resource to rejuvenate the old information system of Governments in India.
