About me

Vijayachandar Sanikal is an IEEE Senior Member, an independent researcher, and a recognized technical leader in AI-driven automotive innovation. He holds a master’s degree in Automobile Engineering from Anna University and an M.B.A. from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, USA. With over 20 years of experience across General Motors, Stellantis, and Caterpillar, Mr. Sanikal has built a distinguished career advancing 3D/1D virtual simulation, advanced digital twin technologies, and hardware- software integrated engineering solutions. His core passion lies in AI-enabled virtual validation, where he applies artificial intelligence, computer-aided engineering (CAE), and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) frameworks to optimize thermal and energy systems for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Hybrid Vehicles, and Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs). He specializes in leveraging synthetic data and digital twin ecosystems to develop cloud-based simulation platforms that accelerate product innovation and strengthen the resilience of next-generation electric and autonomous vehicles. Through this work, he helps transform traditional automotive paradigms into intelligent, sustainable, and future-forward mobility solutions. Mr. Sanikal’s research spans artificial intelligence, virtual software and hardware validation, and advanced mobility systems. His long-term vision is to lead the automotive industry’s transition toward AI-integrated engineering, expanding the role of AI/ML in virtual validation, hardware verification, and energy optimization. He is committed to helping the global automotive sector reduce development time, lower emissions, and achieve cleaner, safer, and more sustainable transportation.
