Vijay is an Urban Planner and Climate Action Enthusiast with a keen interest in solid and liquid waste management having an overall experience of over 3 years. He works in the intersections of SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities - Solid Waste Management), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). He has graduated with a degree of Master of City Planning (MCP) from IIT Kharagpur in 2021 and Bachelor of Architecture from NIT Calicut in 2018. He worked with several research organizations and private companies that include Saahas Zero Waste (2024), NIUA Delhi (2023), The Rainwater Project Hyderabad (2021-22), ASCI Hyderabad (2022), IIT Kharagpur (2020), Lakhotia College of Design Hyderabad (2018), and Clark Lloyd International Hyderabad (2017). From February 2022 to December 2022, he served as a UN Local Pathway Fellow. This cohort brought together a network of 100 young thought leaders from 100 different cities across the world to make cities and urban settlements “smart, fair and sustainable”. With his interest in Climate Action, he served as a Online Mentor for Hack for Earth Youth Hackathon at the UN Climate Change Conference COP27 and COP28. His interests lie in several domains that include Waste Management, Urban Planning, Climate Action, Urban Design, Architecture, and Interior Design.
