Learnings the ins and outs of building a brand with Bombay Shaving Company and The Barbershop with Shantanu. Investing and passing on what I learn with Raiser's Edge. My experience working with several large corporates during my time at Nomura to now working closely with start-ups and building brands, gives me a unique perspective on building and scaling businesses. My journey started when I moved to Mumbai to study Economics at NMIMS and decided to study Finance and work with start-ups in my final year. Right after NMIMS, I started working for Nomura in their EMEA Debt Capital Markets team - allowing me to apply a lot of corporate finance and macro-economics that I learned in college and teaching me the importance of attention to detail and efficiency. I built most of my operating muscle in these two years. I moved to London with Nomura and switched gears to working with the M&A team with a desire to be closer to the C-suite and learn about how the companies actually work. I got the opportunity to work with companies across sectors (Consumers, Digital Infra, Renewables, FIG, and Telecom) helping them either acquire companies or sell portfolio companies - giving me a holistic view of various industries and allowing me to cross-apply the learnings. I also donned the hat of an intrapreneur helping our team build out the Secondary Advisory franchise globally. Deciding to work in the start-up ecosystem in India, I joined Bombay Shaving Company, where I collaborate closely with the Founders on various projects across the organization and lead the Barbershop vertical including the Barbershop with Shantanu podcast. I also lead investments for the Raiser's Edge syndicate which helps me work very closely with new founders and seasoned investors.
