About me

I've spent 16 years building and running businesses in places I didn't know when I arrived — Kuwait, Dubai, Turkey, Singapore, and back in India. Some of it was retail. Alshaya runs around 4,000 stores across nearly 90 global brands — Starbucks, H&M and others — in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Europe. I worked across 16 of those brands and 500+ stores, on supply chain, merchandising and store operations. Some of it was consulting. I moved to Singapore and helped built Thoucentric's mgmt consulting business to $15M — no clients, no pipeline, no team to inherit. Most of that was working with Fortune 500 consumer companies on supply chain and sales transformation. Some of it was software. I was head of product strategy and then GM at Multiplier, a global employment platform, part of the team that scaled it from around $1M to $100M in revenue across 90+ countries — building the payments, compliance and country infrastructure underneath it. A lot of what I learnt wasn't in the job description. How to land in a country where you know nobody and build a network from zero. When relocating is worth it and when it isn't. What it actually costs — financially and otherwise — to move your life somewhere else. How a business gets built when there's no playbook to copy. How to build a culture, and what it takes to sustain one. These days I build AI products and agents myself. What I bring to it is the combination — I understand the business, the technology, and where AI actually fits between them. Most people building with AI don't know the business problem well enough. Most people who know the business problem can't build. The useful work sits in the middle. Happy to talk about any of it. IIT Bombay, B.Tech and M.Tech.
