I recently completed a one-on-one resume and EU job search strategy session, and wanted to share my experience—along with some practical takeaways that might help others in the Cloud/DevOps space. As someone actively targeting roles in Europe, I’d been struggling to tailor my resume effectively and position myself for the international market. This session provided not just feedback, but a clear 5-phase roadmap that brought much-needed structure to my search. Here are the key insights I’m taking forward: 🔹 Resume Refocus Lead with your primary cloud platform (Azure in my case) and trim unrelated role details. Reframe achievements using STAR + Metrics—quantifiable impact speaks louder than tasks. Address skill gaps honestly (e.g., “Currently upskilling in Kubernetes”)—transparency builds trust. 🔹 LinkedIn as a Career Tool Headline and summary should mirror your resume focus and signal openness to EU/remote roles. Consistent, value-driven posts (best practices, learnings) help build credibility and visibility. 🔹 Intentional Skill Building Hands-on labs and certifications (like CKA) to close key gaps. Display your learning journey visibly—on your resume and profile. 🔹 Smart Job Search Tactics Target roles that match your strongest skills first. Prioritize remote opportunities as a practical entry point into the EU market. Learn basic local language phrases—it’s a respectful touch for interviews. 🔹 Realistic Market Entry Relocation can be challenging initially; remote contracts are a strategic bridge. Leverage referrals and engage intentionally with EU-based recruiters and tech communities. I want to thank Vamsi for the structured, no-fluff guidance. If you’re looking to refine your resume, tailor your approach for the EU market, or build a clearer career roadmap, I highly recommend connecting with him. For those on a similar path—especially in Cloud, DevOps, or exploring opportunities in Europe—I’d love to connect and exchange insights.
