Good Politics is about doing things fairly in the interest of the group/ organisation. Bad Politics is acting out of self-interest. There is a difference between playing politics, being political and being politically savvy.
Being political savvy means that each situation is approached with a clear perception of organisational and political reality and recognising the impact of alternative courses of action.
