“Mastering the Art of Speech Writing for MUNs & Debates”

Crafting the perfect speech is the key to standing out in both Model United Nations and competitive debates. This workshop is designed to help participants transform their ideas into powerful, structured, and memorable speeches.

From MUN opening statements to crisis interventions, and from debate constructives to fiery rebuttals, we will break down the techniques that top speakers use to persuade, inspire, and dominate the floor. Participants will learn how to:

• Structure speeches into clear introductions, arguments, and conclusions.
• Adapt tone and style for diplomatic MUN settings vs. adversarial debate formats.
• Write compelling hooks, evidence-driven arguments, and impactful closing lines.
• Balance logic, emotion, and rhetoric to maximize influence.
• Practice time management for short interventions (30–60 seconds) and longer speeches (2–3 minutes).

By the end of this session, delegates and debaters will leave with practical templates, tested strategies, and the confidence to deliver speeches that capture attention, hold credibility, and leave a lasting impression.
