I am a textile and clothing designer with over 23 years of experience. Over the years, I have been kindly noted; to have brought contemporary relevance to the time honoured handcrafted textiles of artisans, thereby pushing to create a basis for their livelihoods. I was a part of a Design-lead livelihoods project at Asian Heritage Foundation funded by World Bank and JSDF before venturing into my independent practice. Textile and sustainable fashion experts and thinkers across the world have kindly made the work a part of research publications, books and forecasts highlighting our approach to crafts, the product and the model of working with rural artisans. The work has been warmly noted by fashion, design and art magazines like Vogue (India), Marie Claire (India), Verve(India), Arts Illustrated and felicitated by magazines like Elle (India) and Grazia (India) for craft revival and innovation in textiles respectively. The work has been a part of Design, Textile and Fashion exhibitions/shows at galleries and museums like Alliance Francaise de Delhi, Devi Art Foundation, India, India Art Fair, New Delhi and Victoria & Albert Museum , London. It has also made space for itself in the homes and wardrobes of eminent national and international artists, collectors and connoisseurs.
