About me

Hi, I'm Swati, and I've spent the last 7 years working at the intersection of policy, strategy, and storytelling. I started out in policy advocacy at the Centre for Civil Society, working on policy communication, research, and public campaigns. Around the same time, I co-founded Public Policy India, a platform that simplifies policy matters and policy careers for India's youth. I also worked in government affairs at MSL Group before joining Dalberg in 2022, where I've worked as a strategy consultant advising governments, multilaterals, and social sector organizations on public policy and development strategy. Across all of it, the throughline has been the same: taking complex ideas, a policy framework, a government program, someone's own career or life experience, and shaping them into something clear, honest, and persuasive. Whether I'm writing a report for a multilateral, building a campaign to make policy accessible to a young audience, or helping someone put their own story into words, the work is really the same instinct applied differently: find what's true and important underneath the noise, and say it in a way that lands. My own journey with study abroad applications was intense and transformative. A few years ago, I went through the process myself and secured admissions to several of the world’s leading public policy programs, including Columbia University, the Hertie School, the Graduate Institute Geneva, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, SOAS and many more. The experience gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to craft a compelling application. Many applicants have impressive experiences but struggle to articulate the “why” behind their journey: what drives them, what shaped their ambitions, and how their experiences connect to their goals. I work closely with applicants to help them uncover and structure that story, ensuring their essays feel authentic, thoughtful, and memorable. For me, this work is deeply personal. Access to global education can change life trajectories, but many talented applicants don’t always have access to the guidance or networks that make the process easier. If you’re navigating the study abroad journey and want someone who will think through your story with you, honestly, thoughtfully, and strategically, reach out, and I’d be happy to help :)
