Hi, I'm Swapnil, a public policy researcher turned business consultant, having spent 5 years in the development and policy research with Harvard, Goldman Sachs and IMF, before joining BCG. My research encompassed how to get smart but underprivileged kids into college, make government schemes more transparent & effective, and scale-up solutions to intended beneficiaries. At Goldman Sachs and the IMF, I analyzed government policies and macro data from 40+ countries to understand the impact on businesses, financial markets and country's overall economy. At BCG, I worked with the banking and industrial clients on digitalization and green investing. I completed my B. Tech from IIT Kanpur and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad (top 5% of the class). I opted out of placements at IIMA to pursue my interest in public policy. My work took me places, from rural hinterlands of India to International policy centers in the US. After exploring policymaking from various lenses, I made a transition to a corporate career with consulting. I would be happy to share my insights and experiences, and risks and rewards of choosing the unconventional path.
