Can me map your career roadmap during college years
About me
About Me
I spent 30+ years India and US building through every major shift in technology — standalone apps, client-server, web, Java distributed systems, complex distributed architectures, software infrastructure at EMC, field CTO work at Microsoft, and post-sales architecture at AWS. Now I’m watching the AI wave reshape everything again.
That long arc gave me something theory can’t: a working point of view on what actually compounds in a career and what quietly derails it. I’ve made the bets, lived the consequences, and watched dozens of platforms come and go. I coach engineers, architects, and tech professionals who want to grow on purpose — and do it without burning out.
College Students
Helping college students find real career direction—in the age of AI.
College students today are more lost than ever about their careers. They take advice from friends instead of parents or mentors, which often points them the wrong way. In a world being reshaped by AI and saturated by social media, even adults struggle to know what to focus on. For a 20-year-old, it's overwhelming.
I've spent 30 years as a career professional. I've made my own mistakes, learned hard lessons raising a college-age son, and—most rewarding of all—informally coached his college friends. Watching them gain clarity and confidence is what convinced me to do this. I guide students across fields, not just tech: pre-med, business, and beyond.
What sets me apart is that I'm a Harvard-trained organizational psychologist. I focus on what actually drives career success—the soft skills that go beyond technical ability. As a high school keynote speaker and Amazon's emotional intelligence evangelist for the past 7 years, I know how to reach young people and move them in the right direction.
My goal is simple: to make a real, positive difference in how the next generation navigates their careers.
Health Journey
I'm not a theorist. I lived this.
Six years ago, my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol and should start medication. I was stunned. I'd been active my whole life—tennis, badminton, never a couch potato. Until about 45, everything was fine.
Then life caught up. A mid-career crunch, raising teenagers, mounting work pressure, and the simple reality of aging metabolism stacked up against me. I assumed more cardio—hiking, biking, staying busy—would fix it. I was wrong. What I actually needed was muscle, and a complete rethink of how, when, and what I ate.
So I took my health into my own hands. Because today's medical system is built to manage disease, not prevent it through nutrition and lifestyle.
Here's what happened:
I went from 180 lb to 155 lb, then dropped another 10–15 lb over the last six months
I train at the gym five days a week and practice yoga
I overhauled my eating—portion control, food quality, and meal timing
I finally took sleep and recovery as seriously as the workouts
My doctor's reaction? "I don't know what you're doing—but don't stop." No medication needed.
