‣ Data Scientist at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas ‣ MS in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville - Experienced individual with a demonstrated history of working in data science and research - Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills - Competent in Python data science ecosystem (TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, etc) =============================== I have loved learning new things and doing creative/innovative things since my childhood. I was found reading science/math books and doing math problems most of the time during my school days. When someone asked me what I wanted to become, I replied confidently: engineer. Following my engineering dream, I ended up being a mechanical engineer. Little did I know my passion for computer science, data science, and programming when I chose mechanical engineering as my major. The passion stoked in my freshman year reached a tipping point in my senior year, and I started web programming on my own. After my undergraduate, I spent eight months programming and learning computer science fundamentals (discrete mathematics, data structures, algorithms). In the meantime, I explored machine learning and started loving Python. Eventually, I switched to computer science with a full-time job at a reputed IT company in Nepal, and the journey of computer science and software development started. After a short stint at InfoDevelopers, I worked with the World Bank as a data scientist for three years. In April 2023, I graduated with an MS in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I have been working with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas as a data scientist since June 2023. Previously, I had a wonderful and successful internship in 2022 summer with the same company. Before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield, I was working with the NASA-IMPACT team at Earth Systems Science Center (UAH) as a graduate research assistant. My interest lies in the intersection of machine learning, software development, and mathematics.
