Hi! I’m Sumit, a PhD researcher in Human Geography at the University of Reading, UK, funded by the ESRC scholarship. Coming from a small town in Haryana, India, I know what it’s like to look at PhDs and studying abroad and think: “Is this even for people like me?” Spoiler: It is! I’ve been through the confusion of applications, scholarships, research proposals, and interviews — and now, I help students make sense of it all. My aim is to make PhD journeys fun, accessible, and less intimidating, especially for students from underrepresented regions. Whether it’s scholarships, research design, academic CVs, or higher education abroad, I keep things simple, practical, and human.
