At Genialis, Sukhi worked as Program Lead - Biomarker Discovery and consulted Biopharmas on broader topics of data science, bioinformatics, AI/ML, FAIR data management, and linking several data types for integrated analysis to deduce actionable insights in terms of biomarkers and disease signals. He was the principal engagement manager in a high valued commercial project with an upcoming state of art Biopharma based in the US. At The Hyve, Sukhi worked as a Consultant and Business Developer on topics such as Enterprise Data Strategy, research data management, data landscape exploration, linked data, integration and assessment of FAIR guiding principles in a corporate data environment. He has a diverse portfolio in executing, consulting and managing data projects spanning R&D, pre-clinical and clinical departments of Top 10 pharmaceuticals globally. Earlier to The Hyve, he worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist in plant breeding at HZPC (world leader in potato breeding and trade). Sukhi holds a doctorate in Computational Epigenetics and Bioinformatics from joint programme between International Max Planck research school and Technical University of Dresden, Germany. After his MSc degree in Bioinformatics from University of Leicester, UK, he worked on multiple projects at Imperial College London and Wellcome Trust Sanger Center, UK and holds a B.Tech in Biotechnology from India. During last decade, his research experience includes (Epi-)genetics, systems biology, plant and mammalian Bioinformatics, marker discovery, immuno-informatics, genome assemblies, web-interfaces, investigating visualisation paradigms, high performance computing(HPC) and addressing complex scientific questions using computation. Additionally, he has substantial experience with team building, global networking, infrastructure (local/cloud/HPC), grant acquisition, public relations, convening, strategic consulting and innovation and technology scouting. Apart Science, he is actively involved in attending, organizing and moderating various workshops, social events and tours ranging from community and cultural events to hiking and cycling tours. Every year, he spends some time abroad on eco-conservation and social innovation projects. Sukhi is a positive, proactive and a result driven professional who enjoys challenge in achieving goals.
