One of the key and non-negotiable aspects of the product manager role is bridging

the great divide between great customer value, business value and code development

process. To achieve this, product managers need to provide well-rounded product requirements1 after considering all possible use-cases/user scenarios.2 I have

experienced conflicts in tech teams because of differing expectations on product requirements. Many of my mentee product managers working in companies of

different industries and different scales have also mentioned the same. This problem, unsolved eventually leads to an “Us versus Them” mentality in the product

organization that would lead to suboptimal product results. One aspect of solving this problem is, of course, product & tech teams stepping up and setting up proper guidelines on the depth of product requirements needed. The other aspect is that

product managers could also be enabled to create requirements that are comprehensive and logically sound. Attached is a checklist of technical requirements divided into two sections: Front-end and

Back-end.
