Sourav is an accomplished Sr. Software Engineering Manager, with a strong background in Software Development, Performance Engineering and Cloud Computing. In his current role at Intel, Sourav is responsible for building High-Performance teams and driving innovation. He is leading a team of Software Engineers in the development and optimization of critical Open-source software, like Postgres, Apache Cassandra, OpenSearch, Presto, RocksDB and ensuring that the software development process is efficient and maintain high quality. He gained expertise in SRE and DevOps along the way. With a Computer Science & Engineering degree, he's spent nearly two decades in his professional career collaborating with professionals worldwide. His primary interest lies in Information Retrieval (IR) and Semantic Search, areas where he has accumulated substantial expertise with Apache Lucene, OpenSearch, and Vector Databases/Search.
