Let's start from the begining. I did my Bachelors in Economics from a college so small in Delhi University; that you won't even know its name. The unique study techniques that I developed for myself; helped me crack final admissions to XLRI, IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode; where I finally ended up for my MBA. However, MBA was just a backup plan for my ultimate aim of pursuing UPSC. So, at IIM-K, I didn't sit for placements and started preparing for IAS right after. Despite 4 years of grind, when it didn't work out; I decided to circle back to the corporates. Despite such a long career break and 0 work ex, I was able to get final calls from 5 companies- the consulting arm of big 4's and Moody's. and for all the 5, it was the HR who reached out to me with the opening. Not me who applied for the role. Finally, after 10 months at Moody's, I have now moved to Goldman Sachs, working as a "Private Credit Analyst". My journey has been full of ups and downs. I have learned the hard way, how to build the right resume, hunt jobs, reach out to recruiters, prepare for the interview and negotiate for the pay. I want to share this wisdom with you guys.
