I am a Mom to 4 cats, who loves her G&T and Espressos. And how does that even make sense as an introduction, here? Well, because my retirement plan includes starting a retreat that is a cat cafe by the day and a gin bar by the night! :D Until then & at present, navigating through my second entrepreneurial stint, building a new-age media venture WYN Studio, the most creative & sought-after branded podcast company. Out and proud building a team of mavericks that works with brands like HP, Mindvalley, Binance, Pearl Academy, TiE, Prime Venture Partners, Spotify and has collaborated with creators like C. Pallavi Rao Narvekar, Nikesh Murali, Gurpreet Singh Tikku, Kunal Mandal, Shayamal Vallabhjee, Avijit Arya, Prakash Iyer, Niharicka Singh and the list continues to sizzle. As for my first entrepreneurial stint Karigar Konnect, an attempt at making the Indian Craft and Artisan story aspirational, tanked royally. A little ahead of time coupled with being a novice at entrepreneurship, lack of a strong & supportive ecosystem, Inability to build and leverage my network, not onboarding mentors & advisors and a weak business model, made a strong case for failure. With some experience in designer & luxury fashion e-commerce, it amused me to compare consumer behaviour across segments. A consumer who didn’t blink an eye before making a purchase worth lakhs for luxury handcrafted products, bargained for pennies when purchasing crafts worth few thousands sourced directly from artisans, which literally carried a part of the artisans’ soul, sweat & toil. The only distinction between a purchase that is aspiration v/s sympathetic was the narrative. A failure that led me to build my entrepreneurial skills by working alongside startups & budding entrepreneurs in tier 2/3/4 cities of India. Building communities & creating interventions that drive awareness & enhance entrepreneurial skills across the country in places like Jalgaon, Akola, Nasik, Marcela, Bicholim, Imphal, Amritsar, Indore, Bhopal, Baroda, Surat & many more, drove home again the importance and power of narratives. Meeting some fabulous entrepreneurial talent at a time when the era of Unicorns had just begun, and seeing them challenged in building the right narrative despite some very innovative offerings, sank my heart. Reflecting within I questioned What’s My Narrative? What I knew was my belief in the power of storytelling with my core strengths like Connectedness, Empathy, Input, Developer & Learner could be put to good use. Just the time when I met my co-founder in 2019 & WYN Studio was born!
