Live Training - POSH for Committee Members

A 90-minute live, practical training designed to equip Internal Committee (IC) members with the foundational legal knowledge, procedural understanding and practical skills required to effectively perform their responsibilities under the POSH Act.

The session focuses on helping Committee members understand not just what the law says, but how to apply its principles while handling complaints, conducting inquiries and making fair, reasoned decisions.

The session covers:

• The POSH Act, Rules and the role of the Internal Committee
• Roles, responsibilities and powers of IC members
• Receiving and assessing a complaint
• Principles of Natural Justice and procedural fairness
• Understanding the inquiry process and key procedural steps
• Notice, response, evidence, witnesses and documentation
• Maintaining neutrality, confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest
• Handling sensitive disclosures and supporting parties through the process
• Conciliation: when it may—and may not—be appropriate
• Interim measures and protection against retaliation
• Assessing evidence and distinguishing fact, inference and assumption
• Common procedural mistakes and pitfalls for ICs
• Practical case studies and scenario-based discussions

Outcome: IC members leave with a stronger understanding of their statutory responsibilities and a practical framework for conducting POSH proceedings that are fair, confidential, trauma-informed and compliant with principles of Natural Justice.
