I am an unapologetic optimist who believes in the power of humans to make this planet a fairer, kinder and better place for us and generations to come. I graduated from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai) with an MSW degree (Medical and Psychiatric Social Work) in 1991 and worked in the NGO sector in India and Malaysia prior to immigrating to Canada in 1995. I have over 25 years of experience developing and leading teams in different parts of the world. I am a relationship architect, education champion, social good advisor who is passionate about life long learning, technology, philosophy and disruption for social good. My experience includes mentoring, counselling, coaching, training, developing high-performance teams, community engagement, child welfare, public relations, government relations, strategic partnerships, Aboriginal relations, international education, curriculum development, leadership development, diversity, inclusion and communications. I am multilingual and have Canadian and international educational, volunteer and work experience. I have worked with the British Columbia (BC) Government (1995-2015) and served in various front line and senior management positions (Director, Executive Director and Acting Assistant Deputy Minister). I completed my Ph.D. Candidacy and Coursework in Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria in 2010. I moved to India in November 2015, to join NewGen KnowledgeWorks as Associate Vice President - Organizational Excellence and Head HR. My portfolio included Strategic Human Resources, Continuous Quality Improvement, Executive Training, People and Culture, Organizational Transformation, CSR, Business Development and Stakeholder/External Relations. From August 2017 - May 2024, I was with SFU as AVP, External Relations. From June 2024 to December 2024, I was Chief Impact Officer at MSM Unify. In January 2025 I relocated from Vancouver to Kochi, to care for my elderly mother and start my own global consultancy focussed on impact, corporate training, education, skill development, public speaking and cross-continental projects and initiatives. I am the President of BC-India Business Network (India), Advisor to Global Emerging Leadership Program (GELP), Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (VISAFF), and The Inclusion Project (TIP). I am also the Chief Advisor for TechDiva Foundation and Advisor to National Federation for Blind (Maharashtra, India). I am passionate about life, helping others transform their lives for the better, leaving a legacy that will make my children proud, and peace.
