I'm truly glad you've chosen to work with me as your therapist. Before we begin our sessions together, I'd like to take a moment to walk you through some important information that I want you to feel comfortable and clear about.

About Me

I'm a psychologist with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, i also hold a certification in Couples & Family Therapy. My training has been shaped through working across hospitals, and NGOs. I aim to provide ethical services according to the mental health regulations followed in india. Please note that I am not licensed to provide formal diagnoses, conduct assessments or prescribe medication.

What to Expect from Counselling

Our work together will be rooted in a mix of the following approaches,

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) - At the heart of EFT is the belief that our emotions are not the problem — they are the map. This approach gently helps you tune into the deeper feelings beneath the surface, understand how they shape your responses, and begin to relate to yourself and others in ways that feel safer and more connected.

Narrative Therapy - We all carry stories about who we are stories shaped by our experiences, relationships, and the world around us. Narrative therapy invites you to step back and look at those stories with fresh eyes. Rather than seeing yourself as the problem, we explore the problem as something separate from you, and together, we begin to rewrite the narratives that may have been limiting you making room for a story that feels truer, stronger, and more your own.

Gottman Therapy (for Couples) - Gottman Therapy aims to offer couples a practical and compassionate framework for understanding each other more deeply. It helps identify the patterns that quietly erode connection and replace them with tools for building trust, intimacy, and lasting friendship. It is both honest and hopeful a space where couples can learn not just to resolve conflict, but to truly know and cherish one another.

Therapy is a gradual process that unfolds differently for each person.

The approach is collaborative. Together, we'll gently explore recurring emotional, behavioural, and relational patterns and the relationship we build within the sessions itself all of which become meaningful parts of the healing journey.

Not every session will feel profound. Silences, stillness, even moments of boredom are all part of the process and learning to sit with them holds its own value. Progress in this kind of work is often quiet, gradual, and cumulative. Patience, consistency, and a willingness to show up are at the heart of it.

The Therapeutic Relationship

The relationship we share within our sessions known as the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important elements of the healing process. Whatever feelings arise toward me throughout our work, whether comfortable or uncomfortable, are worth exploring together rather than setting aside.

To ensure this space remains safe and consistent, I maintain clear professional boundaries. Communication outside of scheduled sessions including texts, calls, or unplanned meetings will generally not be available, except for matters related to scheduling, rescheduling, or payment. These boundaries are not about distance; they exist to protect the integrity of our work together.

Frequency of Sessions

Sessions are typically held once a week. In some cases, I may suggest moving to two sessions per week if I feel it would be beneficial this will always be discussed with you openly during our sessions.

Consistency in attendance is an important part of the process and is your responsibility. Once a session is booked, please keep track of the date and time independently, rather than relying on reminders from the booking platform.

Fees

The session fee is listed on the booking platform. Payment is to be made via UPI or bank transfer at least one hour before the session begins.

Fees are reviewed and raised by ₹200 annually in line with ongoing training and inflation.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

I understand that life can be unpredictable. That said, I ask that any cancellations or rescheduling requests be made at least 6 hours before the scheduled appointment. Requests made within 6 hours, or sessions missed without prior notice, will require the full session fee to be paid.

A 15-minute window will be held at the start of each session. If you have not joined by then, the session will be marked as a no-show.

This policy exists out of mutual respect. Every booked slot represents time set aside exclusively for you, time that cannot easily be offered to someone else at short notice. Treating appointments with care is part of the therapeutic commitment we both share.

Confidentiality

Everything shared within our sessions is held in strict confidence and will not be disclosed outside the therapeutic space. There are, however, a few important exceptions:

1 If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, I may be required to act in the interest of safety.

2 In cases involving the abuse or neglect of a child, adolescent, or vulnerable adult, I may be required to report to the relevant authorities.

For online sessions conducted via Google Meet or Zoom, confidentiality is fully maintained on my end. Sessions are never digitally recorded. The only documentation I keep consists of handwritten notes, accessible solely to me.

Social Media & Professional Boundaries

Alongside my clinical work, I also create content on Instagram. I want to be clear that your confidentiality and our therapeutic relationship remain entirely separate from my online presence.

Sessions are never recorded, referenced, or disclosed in any form. Any content I share online is general and educational in nature it is never intended to reflect, reference, or reveal the identity or experiences of any client. If something ever feels personally relevant to you, please know you are always welcome to bring it up. Professional and ethical boundaries are upheld across both spaces.

Informed Consent

I have read and understood the framework of the therapy described above including its depth oriented approach, the significance of the therapeutic relationship, and the commitment that this process calls for. I understand that therapy may at times involve sitting with difficult emotions, and that meaningful change often unfolds slowly and over time. I consent to engage in psychotherapy with Miss. Simran with the understanding that I may choose to discontinue at any point, ideally after exploring that decision within our sessions.
