"Civilization is a progress from an indefinite, incoherent homogeneity toward a definite, coherent heterogeneity" - Herbert Spencer These words have inspired me to embark on a journey to find solution/s for data and statistics-related puzzles. Analytics is thus my tool! The foundations of my analytical skills were laid during my undergrad degree at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, where I was introduced to the concepts of statistics and numerical modeling. Thereon, I associated with multiple research labs, including the one at University College London on various regression analysis and simulation-related projects. Coming out of college, I got inducted to the global data service hub of Schlumberger as a petrophysicist. I got an opportunity to work on interpretive models for 20+ different oil clients across the globe. I primarily employed python to prepare prediction, clustering, and tool analysis routines. With the intent to extend my analytical know-how, I decided to associate with IrageCapital, a high-frequency trading firm, as Quant analyst. There, I formulated and tested! quantitative strategies on the real-time stock market data. I gained an understanding of handling difficulties associated with productionization of models. This in ways improved my application skills. Next, I went back to school, in order to improve my understanding of the equation/s between "what, how, and why !)" The coursework centered around pillars of business statistics, numerical optimization, and process analysis/encoding helped me to broaden my outlook on problem-solving. Recently, I got an opportunity to work as a data scientist intern with a marketing-based firm and collaborated to define day to day life of their customer using their transaction-based big data.
