I am a first principle thinker and a self taught designer, problem solver. Ever since I was in college, I had always been keenly interested in making projects, building products, leading my groups, brainstorming ideas, convincing peers, advertising my work and creating my identity, asking for sponsorships and so on so forth. Sparsely did I know, that once I step out into the corporate world, all that I had done would come so handy to me but in disguise. Terms changed but the core remains same. I am so glad that I never let myself get defined into a box, I always kept expanding my horizons, only to realize that it had enriched me leaps and bounds. Although, I am still a beginner, and have a lot to learn, I realized that In my professional world, what we used to term as 'Projects' back in college are now 'Products' in the real time, brainstorming ideas now leads to 'Writing PRDs', conducting debates is now called 'meetings to resolve issues', trying to create an identity is now called creating a 'Brand'. So to me, Product management is an amalgamation of what I sought out in my early days without actually knowing that it existed!
