My experience as a designer, researcher, amongst other small contributions has allowed me to believe that design can and must be used as a tool to create real impact. It is through constant learning and unlearning and the application of these along with the right amount of empathy, research, strategy and design can we make a difference and create impact, in any context. I am of the firm belief that experiences teach a lot and inspiration is all around. Through the course of my academic experience, I leaned towards topics, matters, and subjects that stood for something with a bigger meaning and made a stronger impact. Whether it was building a communication guide for language, working on inequality and power, the unheard voices of domestic violence, or the state of policing in India. After my post-graduation at NID, in Graphic Design, I was keen to use my skills beyond the usual and decided to balance Communication Design and Design Research. My prior work at Studio 5B, the design and innovation studio at Dr. Reddys and experience at Dalberg Design (Mumbai), further allowed me to explore and work on complex problems in extremely contextual situations. At Fractal, I’m now on the other side of the spectrum, where I am keen to imagine and apply a data-design led approach to problems and induce the human touch in machines.
