About me

I am writing to express my most profound commitment to offer total Life Transformation through my workshop as a self-taught, audience-engaging, Authentic Global Speaker without VOCAL CORDS, no EXCUSES, just IMPACT IMPACT & Global IMPACT for over 10,000 hours of talks through my Bionic Voice, my Distinct Identity & USP. Twenty-eight years ago, I lost my natural voice to advanced laryngeal cancer. Today, I stand as the world's first TEDx speaker without vocal cords, having inspired over 100,000 lives across global stages while championing cancer awareness, prevention, and survivor support through innovative technologies and unwavering human connection. What medicine once clinically labelled as STML (Short Term Memory Loss) in my journey, I consciously chose to redefine as LTSML (Long Term Specific Memory Loss). I did not lose my ability to speak. I rewired how my voice would live on. My mind, message, confidence, and courage never forgot who I was. I'm not seeking celebration. I'm seeking to amplify courage & confidence for good that is already at work, touching lives across India and beyond. MY JOURNEY: FROM SILENCE TO RESONANCE The Challenge That Defined Me At age 44, at the peak of my entrepreneurial career as an international marketer, I was diagnosed with advanced Stage IV vocal cord cancer. In September 1997, I underwent complete larynx (vocal cords) removal, an irreversible surgery that permanently silenced my natural voice. For three months, I faced a catastrophic silence that I had never imagined possible. When you lose your voice, you lose far more than sound. You lose your ability to speak in boardrooms, to teach, to lead, to be heard. For me, a professional accustomed to commanding international markets and audiences, this was an existential death. It threatened to erase everything I had built and everything I believed I could become. But here's what I discovered in that darkness: silence, too, can roar. The Transformation: Finding My "Metaphorical Voice" Rather than surrendering to helplessness, I chose to reimagine possibility. Over the past 28 years, I have rebuilt my life in ways I never thought possible: • I developed innovative voice rehabilitation techniques combining bionic voice technology with assistive devices, becoming a living case study in recovery and the power of human determination after a near-death experience to last-stage dreadful cancer. • I redefined what communication means through what I call my "Metaphorical Voice, speaking to hearts, not just ears. •I built a global movement focused on cancer awareness, prevention, early diagnosis, and survivor empowerment, as a cancer patient ambassador and advocate, through Fridays with Shrenik — a biweekly live webinar series with 44 sessions completed so far. • I accumulated 10,000+ hours of speaking experience across premier global platforms, proving to myself and millions that disability does not diminish capacity; it clarifies purpose. •I showed up consistently, year after year, across global stages with courage and confidence, not as someone who had “lost” his voice, but as someone who never believed he had. My human spirit remembered what medicine could not quantify. My Platform Recognition & Credibility: I have been blessed with opportunities to share my story on stages that matter: • I am a proud Indian, having created history as the world’s first speaker to take the TEDx stage after surviving vocal cord cancer. • 7x TEDx Speaker with one of my talks recognised among the top 10 most popular TEDx talks globally (February 2025) • Featured twice on Times Square Billboard, New York, a moment that symbolised for me that my voice, though silent, had travelled farther than I ever imagined • Presented at the World Cancer Congress 2022, by the Union of International Cancer Control, Geneva, Switzerland, having presence in 170 countries, where my abstract, story, and film were featured alongside the world's leading oncologists • Keynote speaker at India's premier institutions: IIM Ahmedabad, Amity University, ICAI Ahmedabad, Jaipuria Institute of Management, and India's second-largest cancer research institute, GCRI Ahmedabad • Published "SHAHENSHAH," a biography chronicling this 28-year journey, honoured with The James Madison Award from the USA (March 2025) • Josh Talks speaker and recipient of multiple international recognitions • A top Head & Neck Cancer surgeon featured my journey with my accomplishments during the national conference in Goa in November this year. These credentials matter not because they inflate my ego, but because they prove that impact is possible, that a man without vocal cords can still move hearts and transform minds. My Disability Is My Greatest Asset: People often assume I share my journey with laryngeal cancer and the loss of my voice to inspire sympathy or applause. That’s not why I talk about it. I talk about it because those experiences became my most outstanding teacher, guiding how I navigate struggle, adversity, and life with a lifelong natural speaking disability. Zero vocal cords = Zero excuses and just Impact, Impact & Impact Every word I speak, every audience I reach, every life I touch requires me to work twice as hard and think ten times deeper. When you cannot rely on the natural power of your voice, you must find the power within your message. You must connect with people's souls, not their ears. My bionic voice is not a replacement. It is an extension of my courage. It carries the confidence of a man who never internalised silence as loss. My bionic voice and assistive communication devices are not crutches—they are proof that technology, when combined with human determination, can bridge what we thought was unbridgeable. I am a living model of human-technological integration, and I believe this is the future we must build together. Here's what moves me the most: When I receive messages from cancer survivors, from people facing disability, students, academicians, from professionals experiencing midlife crises, saying, "If Shrenik can do it without vocal cords, I can do it too." That is the force for good I want to amplify. My Measurable, Global Impact: I don't measure my success by awards, though I have been honoured with many. I measure it by lives touched and momentum sustained: • Inspired 100,000+ lives globally through speaking engagements, mentoring, and direct advocacy across healthcare, education, and leadership platforms. • Patient Ambassador & Moderator, Indian Cancer Society (Delhi): Personally moderated 44 live webinar sessions featuring eminent cancer specialists, reaching audiences across India and globally. These biweekly sessions (4 PM IST, continuing until December 2025 & in 2026 too) focus on cancer awareness, prevention, and early diagnosis, creating trusted spaces for survivors, caregivers, and specialists to connect — and enabling timely, life-saving interventions. • Created history at AIIMS, Delhi (since 1960): As a vocal cord cancer survivor, addressed 700+ aspiring psychology students across two sessions within a single month (September–October 2025) on Speak Up — a suicide prevention and mental health wellness initiative. • Recognised by leading media and institutions: Featured by Gujarat Samachar (11.78 million readers), the World Cancer Congress, international healthcare platforms, educational institutions, and NGOs. • Ranked among the Top 500 speakers globally, selected from over 300,000 participants worldwide. These numbers are not statistics. They represent real people, honest conversations, and real hope. My Advocacy Across Critical Social Issues: I don't just tell my story. I use my voice, this metaphorical voice, to address the intersecting challenges that affect millions. Cancer Prevention & Awareness: I have made it my mission to shift the narrative from "living with cancer" to "living beyond cancer." I work tirelessly to ensure that early diagnosis and prevention education reach every household, every school, every workplace. On World Cancer Day 2025, I was featured as an Advocate & Ally because I believe cancer survivors have a responsibility to protect others from the journey they have endured. Disability Inclusion & Voice Rehabilitation: I urge cancer hospitals and policymakers across India to make voice rehabilitation mandatory for every post-laryngectomy patient. Why? Because every survivor deserves the chance I fought for. I advocate for corporate platforms that offer speaking opportunities and career pathways for survivors, empowering them to rebuild independent, sustainable, dignified lives. Disability inclusion is not charity—it is recognising untapped human capital and human wisdom. Purposeful Leadership & Life Transformation: Through my "Life 2.0" philosophy, I mentor professionals, employees, and students facing adversities that threaten to define them. I teach them that challenges are not obstacles—they are gateways to greatness. I share the "I CAN" spirit not as motivation, but as a practice. I have learned this through 27 years of living it. International Recognition & Accolades: Institutions have validated my journey, and I deeply respect: • Guinness World Record Certificate Recipient • Patient Leader Hero Award 2021 (USA), recognised as a motivator from among 21,000 global nominations by the world's largest healthcare platform. • "The Empowered Man" Award 2023 (LOANI, UK) • "The Terrie Hall Outliving Award" (IAL, USA) • "The World Superhero Award" (UK) • "TIMA - The Ideal Man" Award (India) • Icon of Resilience Award (Amity University, UP) • Global Goodwill Ambassador designation (USA) • Featured by the Union of Cancer Control Geneva in the World Cancer Congress 2022 • Pages 79 to 109 of my biography, “SHAHENSHAH,” present unedited global testimonials, along with over 10,000 compliments received via social media. My story is not mine alone—it belongs to every person fighting in silence, every family struggling with a diagnosis, every survivor wondering if their life has meaning after illness. WHY I AM THE RIGHT CHOICE AS A SELF-TAUGHT PROFESSIONAL LIFE TRANSFORMATION INFLEUNCER & SPEAKER? What I Will Bring to This Platform: 1. Authentic Heroism: Not a celebrity overcoming manufactured challenges, but a real person who lost everything and spent 27 years rebuilding a life of global impact. Every word I speak comes from lived experience, not borrowed wisdom. 2. Relatable Transformation: There are millions of Indians facing health crises, disability, job loss, midlife crises, and profound loss of identity. When they see me standing on that stage without vocal cords, speaking to millions, they will see their own possibility. They will know that silence does not mean the end—it can mean a new beginning. 3. Actionable Inspiration: I don't just tell people never to give up. I teach them how to transform adversity into purpose. Every person watching will leave with knowledge about cancer prevention, early diagnosis, disability inclusion, and the practical tools of resilience. 4. Unforgettable Presence: The contrast between my physical silence and the power of my communication creates a story that moves beyond entertainment into transformation. When I speak through my bionic voice about the power of voice, about connection, about purpose, the audience will feel something they cannot put into words. That is the magic of this platform. 5. Multi-dimensional Impact: My expertise spans healthcare, motivation, disability advocacy, and social change. I bring not just one story, but a movement that can align with corporate partners, NGOs, government initiatives, and community organisations across sectors. THE COMMITMENT FOR GOOD I WANT TO AMPLIFY My Call to Action: If I am given this platform, here is what I commit to: 1. For Cancer Patients & Their Families: I will share the signs of early detection that could save your life. I will introduce you to the advances in cancer treatment available in India. I will tell you that a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence—it is a call to fight, and you are not alone. 2. For Healthcare Workers & Hospitals: I will advocate loudly for voice rehabilitation as a standard of care, not a luxury. I will show that investing in survivor wellness is investing in India's human capital. 3. For People Facing Disability: I will demonstrate that your limitations do not define your potential. I will challenge the world to see disability not as something to fix, but as a dimension of human diversity. I will prove that you have gifts to offer that the world desperately needs. 4. For Professionals in Midlife Crisis: I will tell you that losing one identity—your job, your health, your role- is not the end of your story. It is often the beginning. Your second act can be greater than your first. 5. For every Indian from diverse walks of life, searching for Purpose: I will share the most profound lesson of my 27 years: Purpose is not something you find. Purpose is something you choose, every single day, especially on days when everything tells you to give up. WHY THIS MOMENT, WHY NOW? I am 74 years old. I have 10,000+ hours of speaking experience. I have touched 100,000+ lives. I have spoken at the World Cancer Congress. I have received numerous recognitions worldwide. But I have never stopped. Every week, I host "Fridays with Shrenik." Every day, I mentor survivors. Every moment, I am looking for the next person whose life I can change, the next stage where I can speak, the next platform where I can amplify this message. It is an opportunity to serve India at scale. It is a chance to reach tens of millions of households with a message of r: When I stand on the stage, I will not perform gratitude. I will do what I have done for 28 years: I will share my truth with such authenticity and power that everyone watching will feel their own capacity to overcome. I will speak about the day I lost my voice and the 28 years I spent finding it. I will use my bionic voice to speak about the power of voice. I will demonstrate that the greatest adversities have the greatest purposes. I will create history, as the first speaker ever to appear at your institute/organisation with a differently enabled, audience-engaging bionic voice. Not despite my disability, but because of what it represents: the invincible power of the human spirit to redefine limits. I will leave every viewer with this thought: "Cancer is like a stallion: either you ride the stallion, or the stallion is going to ride you." The choice is ours. The power is ours. The DESTINY is ours to create. MOVING FORWARD: I am ready. I am committed. I am prepared to bring my full energy, lived wisdom, and global movement to my professional workshop. • Platform: https://linktr.ee/ShrenikShah https://shrenik-shah.com THE PROMISE I make this promise to every viewer: When you hear my story, you will remember it. You'll be able to tell others. You will see your own challenges differently. You will understand that your voice, whether literally or metaphorically, has the power to change the world. That is the Power of my Voice for good I represent. That is why I stand with the Gen Z generation today. "Life becomes SILENT without SPOKEN WORDS. But silence, too, can roar."— Shrenik Shah.
