Hey, I’m Shreeyanshu, an MSc Zoology graduate who’s spent the last few years figuring out how to break into research opportunities at some of India’s top institutes. I’ve had the opportunity to work across different research environments, including the University of Toronto–GKVK and the Evolutionary Venomics Laboratory at the Centre for Ecological Sciences, IISc. Along the way, I’ve learned how to find relevant opportunities, identify the right researchers and labs, write effective cold emails, and approach positions strategically. My approach: Find the right opportunity + approach the right person + present your profile properly. I don’t believe in generic advice like “just email professors” or “apply everywhere.” There’s a lot more nuance to getting into good research institutes. Knowing whom to approach, what to say, when to reach out, and how to present your experience can make a huge difference. I’ve also been through the uncertainty that comes with trying to figure all of this out yourself- searching through lab websites, looking for opportunities, figuring out whom to contact, writing emails, dealing with no responses, and learning what works through trial and error. Now, I want to help make that process easier for you. Whether you’re looking for your first research internship, a project position, research traineeship, or your next opportunity at a top institute, I can help you figure out where to look, who to contact, how to approach them, and how to position your profile. You don’t need to already have a perfect CV or a long list of prestigious experiences to start. Sometimes, the biggest hurdle is simply knowing where the opportunities are and how to approach them. I’ve figured out a lot of this through trial and error. Let me help you skip some of that guesswork.
