Hi, I’m Shallu!  --->>> I'm an NMR Chemist at Magritek, New Zealand, where I support researchers and industry users in getting the most out of NMR technology through applications development, experiment design, and scientific problem-solving. Originally from India, I completed my PhD at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. I also hold a Master’s from IIT Delhi and a BSc (Hons) from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Somewhere along the way, I realised I’m not just interested in science but how people experience science. That shift quietly shaped everything I do: simplifying complex ideas, sharing research in human ways, and building spaces where students feel less alone in their journey. --->>> I'm also the co-founder of Grab a PhD (GAP), a mentorship initiative dedicated to helping students navigate the often-confusing journey of securing PhD opportunities abroad. Through GAP, we've supported 50+ students in successfully obtaining PhD positions across different countries. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to share science and career talks at places like University of Canterbury NZ, IIT Delhi, Miranda House, IIT Ropar, and NSUT, and run outreach sessions across India, New Zealand, and Tonga.
