The goal of PMBO 102 is to elevate product managers from User Story writers and backlog groomers to a level where they will strive to ensure business outcomes.
It is designed to help product managers put strategic alignment into action down to the brass tacks of execution.
Also, ensuring that the "Why" and "Whether" of the product are never lost in the shuffle of "How" and "When" of the delivery.
This hands-on workshop is less like lectures and more like a guided trek in a demanding terrain.

- Thinking Business before Backlog,
- Understanding the difference between User & Buyer personas, and how it impacts product success,

Workshop Format
In this in-person workshop, I sparingly use PPTs.
The workshop relies on realistic simulation by playing the roles of Buyers, Users, Stakeholders, Product Managers, Dev & QC.
For this simulation, we can use User Stories and scenarios from your work environment. We will refer to your challenges as examples to discover how to tackle them best, and I trust you will make valuable discoveries on your own also.
If you wish, I can do a Gemba walk for work practice assessment, in which I interact face-to-face with all the team members.
The recommendations I give in this workshop are completely based on my experience of working with numerous teams from various domains and backed by my first-hand experience about what worked & what did not.
Rather than following a linear and stage-by-stage process, modern product development thrives on an incremental and spiral approach. The same philosophy drives the six modules of PMBO 102, ensuring that product managers learn to navigate complexity through continuous iteration rather than an outdated & rigid sequence of modules.
Duration:
- 2 Days.
- With assessment on 15th, 30th, 60th, day (& intervention if needed)
Participants:
- Product Managers, APMs, Sr Dev, Sr. QC members.
- Ideally, from the same Squad / Pod / Team to ensure the impact assessment on 15/30/60 day is measurable.
- Max 8-10 participants.
Changes to expect from this workshop:
Participants will show a noticeable improvement in
- - value-flow to market,
- - reduced waste creation,
- - work culture of Ship-Small-Ship-Often,
- - team's Outward Focus & obsession for RoI,
- - team's mindset for working towards the Common Goal,
- - team's Silo-less Work Culture,
- - improved predictability, transparency & reduced anxiety.
