About me

Hi, I'm Saranya - an IT professional and Master's student in Information Technology at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, currently working as a Workstudent at Prysmian in Germany. My journey into tech started with a Bachelor's in Electronics and Communication Engineering back in India, after which I spent over 4 years working as an IT Support Specialist with two of India's top MNCs (TCS and Infosys) - supporting global clients like Prudential Financial and Marriott Vacations Worldwide. During that time, I worked across IT incident management, application support, while following ITIL processes and Agile methodologies. In 2024, I decided to take a leap - leaving a stable career to pursue my Master's in Germany, specializing in Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and IT Security. Today, I balance my studies with a Workstudent role at Prysmian, where I work on Power Platform, SharePoint, and business process automation. So I understand both sides of this journey - the professional world I came from, and the student life I'm currently living in Germany. 🎓Why I Started Mentoring Making the leap from working professional to international student wasn't a simple transition. I navigated the entire university application process, the student visa procedure, relocating to a new country, finding housing, and building a life from scratch - all while continuing to grow my career in tech. I remember how overwhelming and confusing this journey felt at almost every stage and figuring out how things really work once you're here versus what you expect before you arrive. I started mentoring because I don't want others to feel as lost as I once did. 💡 What I Can Help You With → The Germany roadmap — from Selecting the right university to navigating the each process and everything in between → Cracking the Workstudent market — how job searching actually works here, where opportunities really come from, and how to approach companies the right way → Expectations vs. reality — an honest picture of the German job market, without the sugar coating you'll find online → Life after landing — housing, cost of living, everyday culture shocks, and the adjustment period no one talks about → German work culture — how communication, feedback, work life balance and workplace expectations differ, so your first job doesn't blindside you 🙌 Let's Walk This Path Together I've been exactly where you're standing now — unsure, a little anxious, full of questions. I'll share what actually worked for me, mistakes and all, so your path is a little clearer than mine was.
