Hi, I’m Saranya Jayalal, a Master’s graduate at EIT InnoEnergy specialized in Sustainable Energy Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. With a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and professional experience as an Associate Engineer/Systems Analyst, I have hands-on expertise in energy storage systems, testing and validation, and hardware-software integration. My research focused on the decarbonization of the pulp and paper industry, where I design energy models to assess electrification pathways and emission-reduction strategies. Alongside, I’ve worked on diverse projects in renewable energy integration, energy system optimization, life cycle assessment, and techno-economic feasibility studies across Europe, India, and Latin America. I am deeply passionate about clean energy, sustainability, and technology-driven climate solutions.
