Frequently asked questions
Why is my portfolio getting no replies?
Usually one of three things: it's not clear within a few seconds what kind of designer you are, your strongest project isn't first, or your case studies describe a process instead of defending a decision. Occasionally it's none of those and you simply haven't applied to enough roles six applications with no replies is a volume problem, forty with two replies is a portfolio problem. They need opposite fixes. If you'd rather not guess which one it is, send me your link and I'll tell you in 48 hours.
What if I'm not sure which session I need?
Book the Priority DM. Send your link, get a written verdict in 48 hours, and it'll be clear from that whether a call would help or whether you already have what you need. It's the cheapest way to find out, and it's what I'd suggest to anyone unsure. Send the link and I'll tell you which one you need or whether you need one at all.
What happens in a review session?
You send a link beforehand and answer four short questions, so I arrive knowing your target role rather than spending the first ten minutes catching up. Then 45 minutes live with your work on screen — what gets scanned, what's decoration, what should be leading. Written notes follow within 48 hours, with one section rewritten as a model. Bring one portfolio or case study; it does not need to be finished.
How do I move from a consumer app portfolio to enterprise or B2B design?
Start by reframing what you already have rather than building something new. Most consumer projects contain evidence of constraint, conflicting requirements and messy data the things B2B teams are actually listening for and it usually gets edited out because portfolio advice is written for consumer work. Name the constraint, say who couldn't change what, and describe the user who had no choice about using it. If you want that reframing done on your actual projects rather than in the abstract, book a call and we'll do it together.
