Hey, I’m Saloni. I’m a Product Manager with 2+ years of experience, and my journey into Product Management wasn’t a straightforward one. I didn’t come from a tech background, I didn’t go to an IIT/IIM, and I didn’t have an MBA. My journey into Product Management has been completely self-taught. I started my career exploring different areas like marketing, growth and content. While figuring out what I actually wanted to do, I came across Product Management and started learning about the role. The more I learned, the more I realised that this was something I wanted to build my career in. But I had no roadmap. I didn’t know what I needed to learn, how much I needed to know before applying, how to get relevant experience, how to make my resume look like a PM resume, or how to prepare for PM interviews. So I started figuring it out myself. I spent months learning Product Management through online resources, PM assignments, case studies, networking and conversations with people in the industry. I worked on projects, applied to roles, faced rejections, improved my profile and kept learning along the way. Eventually, I landed my first Product internship. That gave me the opportunity to actually work on products, understand users, look at product data and work with different teams. From there, I moved into an Product Manager role. Over the last 2+ years, I’ve worked on B2B SaaS products, analytics, user journeys, product launches and AI-powered products. I’ve worked closely with engineering, design, QA, sales and customer-facing teams and have owned features from understanding the problem to getting them shipped. A big part of my journey has been learning by doing. And that’s exactly why I started helping others who want to make the same transition.
