About Myself & Experiences Hi, I’m Sumanth! I am currently a Software Engineer 2 at Uber, having graduated from IIT Bhubaneswar. Over the past 5+ years, I have specialized in building highly scalable backend systems, designing complex data pipelines, and integrating cutting-edge Generative AI features into enterprise products. In my professional journey—spanning from my time at Observe.AI to my current role at Uber—I have had the opportunity to tackle a wide variety of engineering challenges. My experiences range from optimizing large-scale Elasticsearch infrastructures and overhauling Snowflake data export APIs, to building sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using Langchain and LlamaIndex. I deeply enjoy system design, debugging complex production issues, and writing clean, maintainable code in Python, Java, and C++. Beyond my day-to-day engineering responsibilities, I am very passionate about mentorship. I actively help aspiring and mid-level engineers accelerate their careers through rigorous mock interviews, resume reviews, and actionable guidance on breaking into Tier-1 tech companies. My Interests Outside of the tech world, my favorite ways to unwind are playing cricket and listening to music. I am also very passionate about leveraging technology for social impact. During the pandemic, I independently built and deployed a full-stack web application (NeedCovidPlasma.in) that matched plasma donors with recipients in real-time, helping bridge a critical gap during a difficult time.
