Over the last 20+ years I have mentored over two hundred designers and design managers at various stages of their careers for the teams I have built and led. I have done this across different geographies and very diverse companies. Some of my mentees are now Directors, AVPs and Heads of Design in their own right. I am now making this experience, and expertise, available to you on-demand.

Here are some broad areas (not limited to) I can help you with-

  1. Career growth - Your aspirations, current competency and progression. The jumps from Senior to Lead, IC to first-time Manager and Manager to Leadership are especially hard.
  2. Skill development - design craft, people management, communication & presentation, stakeholder management and design strategy are some areas people routinely have difficulty with.
  3. Leadership craft - Building & leading creative teams, communicating & aligning with cross-craft partner leaders or exec leaders, measuring design effectiveness and running lean design orgs are often areas that present challenges to first-time leaders.
  4. Navigating job changes - Evaluating design maturity, scoping your role in the new org and negotiating job offers could all benefit from an outside perspective. I’m happy to provide mine based on the experience I’ve had so far.
  5. Projects - Sometimes you may need an outside perspective on the work you’re doing or a fresh approach to a problem you’re trying to solve.

Your 60 minute session will be customised to your needs which may be some combination of the above or something outside of this list but important to your evolution as a designer or design leader.

Expect a patient listening to your problem, a clear re-articulation of what you need and actionable feedback to help you move forward with confidence. Some problems may require multiple sessions to fully untangle or to track progress and provide course correcting feedback.
