Rustum Usman is a Product Leader with over 10 years of professional experience spanning from Academics to Industry. He believes in a human-centred approach to product innovation via integrating the needs of people, the possibilities of technology and the requirements of business success. He has extensive experience in defining and driving innovation and Go-To-Market strategies for products in verticals such as Energy/Renewable, EduTech, Manufacturing, and Utilities leveraging IoT and Machine Learning. Rustum previously headed products at Crink Private Limited, an ed-tech startup. Before that, he was a Product Manager at Consyst Technologies. He had also co-founded Spia Tech, an Industry 4.0 startup and launched an IIoT data analytic and visualization platform for the utilities and process industry which resulted in raising a fund and acquired multiple contracts from India and abroad. Rustum is a design thinking practitioner and has been conducting design sprints for product teams. He has also completed programs in machine learning, design thinking and product management. Rustum acquired a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala. Rustum is a bibliophile and nature/birding enthusiast. He believes that the world is incomplete without the smell and love for books.
