I am a business story teller at heart and immensely excited by the potential that the new age Indian start-up eco system has to revolutionise the way we lead our life and work. With a career of over 16+ years across various roles in Human resources, I have had the honour to learn from the best of many worlds. I have seen scale in TCS in the first 4 years of my career and everything startup in the last 10+ years. My experience spans from Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition specially Leadership Hiring, Networking, Building high performance teams, HR operations and partnering with leaders to build business bottoms up. I thrive in a high paced - high performance environment where data drives decisions , people and pace drive execution and culture keeps them all together. I am extremely passionate about building early to growth stage business journeys and the role that great Talent has in this stage and I sincerely believe in the power of HR in transforming business. In my current role at Z47, I have the privilege and the honour to be partnering with an amazing set of founders and entrepreneurs to embed the need and importance of focusing on Talent and culture right from day 0. And I have been fairly successful in driving impact across businesses/ ideas and with different archetype of leaders and founders. Just like the founders strive to create a market for their product/services, I am constantly striving to create the culture where business leaders understand that businesses cannot grow keeping talent needs aside. And I am glad I have this chance to create such a play book around Talent which will be the only competitive advantage between companies in the long run. Why am I on Topmate? It is rightly said that “we are the sum of the people we surround ourselves with”! Being the first generation in the family to study in a college and being the first kid to get out of that dainty small town in Assam, while I had the love and support of my family, what I didn’t have was any kind of career guidance in the initial years. Taking a decision at every step (which college to choose, which job to apply for, what skills to build etc.) was all through first principles. I got the first taste of how mentorship helps (Do things faster/ make fewer mistakes/learn from others etc.) during my MBA. As luck would have it, I found some incredible mentors & well-wishers along the way who helped me navigate my career, enabling me to be where I am today. I am thankful for the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years. It gives me immense joy to know that I too can provide support and guidance to the next generation of professionals.
