I am a Btech in IT and an MBA from a tier 3 college. Not IIT. Not IIM. I got placed through campus and quit because the role wasn't right for me. I moved to Bangalore, attended walk-ins, got rejected plenty of times, and eventually landed my first job as a Business Analyst. That was 10 years ago. Today I work as a Program Manager. A few years back my husband — a Mechanical Engineer — wanted to move into IT Product. Everyone around him was doubtful. I helped him work on his story, his resume, and his interview approach. He got the role. He is still there. Since then I have helped a handful of friends and colleagues make similar transitions into BA and Product roles. Not hundreds. Not thousands.
