About me

Hi, I'm Prakash Dass, a Platform Engineer driven by curiosity about how systems work beneath the surface. My journey started with a simple question: what really happens after a user clicks a button? This curiosity led me to explore software systems from the application layer down to infrastructure and networking. To understand performance and reliability deeply, I enjoy building systems from first principles. Some of the projects I've worked on include: - A high-performance C++ web server built from scratch - A distributed key-value store in Go implementing the Raft consensus algorithm These projects helped me gain hands-on experience with: - concurrency and synchronization - distributed system design - low-level performance optimization - fault-tolerant architectures Beyond individual engineering work, I enjoy collaborating with teams to solve challenging problems. My experience participating in 7+ hackathons, contributing to student initiatives, and leading projects in the Rotaract club strengthened my skills in teamwork, communication, and leadership. Today, my focus lies in platform engineering, observability, and system reliability understanding how modern infrastructure works and helping engineers build and debug reliable systems.
